Universal Industrial Privacy Commitment: All applications developed and published under the PlcTools.cc brand (including TcPlcScope, WinCeRemoteDisplay, and future industrial software utilities) are strictly engineered as zero-cloud-dependent, non-invasive local engineering tools. We DO NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or industrial control telemetry to remote cloud servers. All communications take place directly and strictly over your local industrial factory network.

1. Scope & Universal Principles

This Universal Privacy Policy governs all software products, mobile applications, and embedded diagnostic utilities published by PlcTools.cc ("we", "us", or "our"), including on Google Play and Apple App Store.

Industrial controls and motion telemetry are sensitive assets. Our software architecture is built upon three foundational privacy principles:

  • No Mandatory Accounts: No user registration, phone numbers, or third-party sign-ins are ever required to use our tools.
  • Zero Third-Party Tracking SDKs: We do not bundle Firebase Analytics, Facebook Graph, Google AdMob, or commercial advertising/telemetry trackers.
  • Zero Remote Cloud Storage: All PLC variables, HMI screen streams, and oscilloscope captures remain strictly isolated within your mobile device and local industrial network.

2. Product-Specific Data Handling

A. TcPlcScope (TwinCAT ADS Oscilloscope & Debugger):

  • Local Network ADS Communication: Connects directly to Beckhoff TwinCAT controllers over standard TCP port 48898 and UDP discovery port 48899. Communication is purely point-to-point within your workshop Wi-Fi / Ethernet LAN.
  • Local Storage: Controller IP addresses, AmsNetIds, symbol watchlists, and tamper-evident write audit trails are stored strictly in the local sandboxed SQLite database on your device.
  • Exported Diagnostics: Waveform CSV exports and 1200x1600 report images are saved directly to your device's standard Downloads folder upon explicit user command.

B. WinCeRemoteDisplay (Industrial WinCE Remote HMI):

  • CERHOST TCP 987 Stream: Streams video frames from Microsoft Windows CE cerdisp.exe. Image decoding is handled entirely in on-device native C++ SIMD memory and is never uploaded or cached externally.
  • Touch Commands: Touch and mouse coordinates are transmitted directly to the target IPC controller over the local socket only when the physical Read-Only Safety Lock is deliberately unlocked by the operator.

C. Future Industrial Software Suite Tools:

Any additional diagnostic utilities released by PlcTools.cc will strictly adhere to the same zero-telemetry, local-first industrial architecture defined herein.

3. Device Permissions & Purpose Specification

In strict accordance with Google Play Developer Program Policies, our applications request only the minimum essential operating system permissions:

  • INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to establish local socket communication with factory PLCs, IPCs, and embedded HMIs on the local subnet.
  • ACCESS_WIFI_STATE & CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: Required for broadcasting UDP discovery packets to discover controllers automatically across industrial access points.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: Used when active recording or remote monitoring is running, ensuring Android does not terminate long-running polling sessions when the screen dims. A visible status bar notification is always displayed.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Solely used to display the active foreground service notification. We never send push notifications for advertising, news, or promotions.
  • WAKE_LOCK: Prevents the screen from sleeping during active field machine diagnostics, avoiding repeated screen unlocks in cleanroom or PPE environments.

4. Data Retention, Deletion & Security

Because all data resides exclusively on your local device, you maintain 100% control over its lifecycle:

  • Complete Deletion: You can permanently wipe all cached projects, symbol records, and audit logs at any time via Android System Settings (Settings → Apps → [App Name] → Storage → Clear Data) or by uninstalling the application.
  • Hardware Security: Application data is secured by Android's OS-level application sandboxing and encryption.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our applications are professional industrial engineering tools and are not marketed to or intended for children under the age of 18 (and strictly under 13). We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

6. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Universal Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new tools or regulatory standards. The current version will always remain accessible at this canonical URL with an updated effective date.
